Cathy McCarthy is at it again

Since her last Anti-Christian, Anti-free speech bill she has now dabbled in another gun related bill. Again for the wrong reasons.
A last-ditch lobbying effort by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy prevented an anti-gang measure that passed the House of Representatives yesterday from including language that would have allowed grade-schoolers to pack a pistol as long as they were in the company of a parent.

"Today was a very good day because we got rid of something bad in the bill," said McCarthy (D-Mineola), the leading gun-control advocate in Congress. "Personally, I don't know why a 9-year-old should ever have a gun."
After carefully reading the text of an amendment offered by Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), McCarthy and her staff became worried that its wording would have allowed juveniles to carry a firearm anywhere as long as they were accompanied by a parent.
Now for me the most important part of what she whined was that the youth would be with their parents. Parents that decide whether the child should pack the handgun on the way to the dump to go shooting, or down to the lake. The rights of the parent to decide if the kid is smart enough and responsible enough to carry the firearm, while in their presence.

But not good enough for Paternal government McCarthy. She knows better then you mindless masses. How dare you decide something. This dabbling in parental rights is what the government is good at and needs to be cut off at the knees.
