I realized that the phrase "ground zero mosque" had faded from the news and I wanted to see if I was right. Well Google trends came to my rescue.

Just right before the election the term faded big time, but why? I decided to check it against another term and damned if it doesn't seem humurous.

The right driven, anti-mosque movement in the press and online faded the same time that the idea that a republican landslide came into view.

People wonder why I view politicians like vermin. They created so much anger and hatred and then when they rode that hate fileld horse to victory that walked away from it.

The Mexican gov is saying that their 'gun troubles' are all are fault due to the guns heading south..now our agents are saying they have troubles with guns going north.

Back in March I noted an advert for a political campaign that did not set well with me. Not due too anti-patriotism or his political views, but because it seemed to be pandering.

It does though seem to be pandering to the political 'war patriotism' that is surging and using it for your own advantage.

The ad had no disclaimer of any kind.

"Maj. Ward was asked in writing to remove this ad because it did not comply with the (Department of Defense) Directive," Capt. Brian Block, a spokesman at Marine Headquarters at the Pentagon, said in an e-mail.

Ward took responsibility for the mistake in an interview Wednesday and promised not to repeat it.

"It's my fault. I saw the ad," Ward said. "I should have made the correction."

I'm glad he manned up, took responsibility and corrected it. I had deleted his name in the image I used because I just wanted to comment on the pandering aspect of it all and had no grief against him as an individual, but I will say that he has earned some respect from me. It would have been so easy for him to say that this was an 'attack' by the Obama administration against his campaign but instead he took the high road. That is something that in these days of juvenile politics is praise worthy people.

Arizona is on the verge of joining Alaska and Vermont as the only states allowing citizens to carry concealed weapons without a permit with few exceptions. This is a good trend and while the democratic controlled government in Tennessee will never go for it, the idea of it here thrills me.

Now there are some sensible arguments for training by some in Arizona.

Firearms instructor Dave Gushert said that training was important, and that the new bill might be a problem. In addition to safety, he said people carrying firearms should also know the laws about when it is legal to use a gun for self defense.

"Everybody thinks Arizona is the wild west and that you can just draw from the hip and go, and this is going to get a lot of people hurt or in trouble," Gushert said.

I agree and the old saying "ignorance of the law is no excuse" really does apply here, and since this likely would be a life and death situation training is paramount. I think if you feel you want to carry you would be dumb not to know the ins-and-outs of what is proper LEGAL use of a handgun for self defense.

The other main issue is the idiots. Like this guy in Arizona...poster boy for the Brady Group.

During the investigation, witnesses told officers 30-year-old David Walter, of Surprise, entered the store with a semi-automatic pistol in a holster. He would reportedly holster the gun and un-holster it as he walked through the store. Witnesses say the suspect ‘continually messed with’ and was manipulating the gun.

Walter was standing at the electronics counter talking to the clerk when he reportedly pulled the gun out of the holster, removed the magazine and put it back in. The clerk got scared and said she was afraid he was going to rob her and notified the store manager.

Walter again allegedly approached a checkout lane and stood near several customers and workers as he pulled the gun from his holster. As he pulled the gun out it magazine dislodged and fell to the floor.

Walter re-inserted the magazine into the pistol and manipulated it as if loading it when the gun discharged.

Luckily only some ceiling tiles died in his idiot usage, but what the hell ... "magazine dislodged and fell to the floor" and even with that info they did not take the time to tell what type of handgun has the ultimate in self-dropping magazines.

These are the people that leave me with a small fractional desire to have carry permits required. Then reality, the ideas of individual rights, and etc. kick in and I fall fully back into the Vermont carry camp...but those ideas caused a terrifying 2-3 seconds.

Okay. This might bother some but here goes. Being a member of, or a past member of does not mean you are better or worse to serve as a representative in a political office. It does though seem to be pandering to the political 'war patriotism' that is surging and using it for your own advantage. Putting yourself in uniform for images like these turn me off as it seems you're using the uniform to get votes and not your position on subjects.

I had no trouble with Kerry or McCain talking about their service because they did not dress up in uniform when they did it in a self serving manner. Please to all future politicians. QUIT!

On Reddit a man in Chile makes the statement of the year when asked about Looters and gangs after the earthquake.

The looters progressed from grocery chain stores to department stores to smaller neighborhood stores (ones with 5-10 employees). And then all that was left was houses and department buildings. That was when the terror set in.

Grocery and department stores have insurance, and I guarantee they will make a profit from this by falsifying their claims. Small businesses are screwed, but at least by abandoning them the owners and their familys are safe. But when it's homes that are in danger, well, that's your zombie apocalypse right there.

My neighbors and I were all without firearms. That is something I regret. My opinion of those things has changed overnight, believe me. Fortunately, a nearby department building was full of army families and they would start shooting at anyone moving in the street during curfew (18:00 to 12:00 for the first days of curfew). Maybe they were shooting in the air, but the people roving in the street always changed direction after that, so it was enough.

Changing your mind after the disaster does little good. Maybe you can start your own little Chilean Gun Rights organization down there.

Larimer County Sheriff James Alderden, outraged by the ban, told The Gazette’s opinion department he will undermine it in the interest of student safety.

“I have told the CSU police chief I will not support this in any way,” Sheriff Alderden told The Gazette. “If anyone with one of my permits gets arrested for concealed carry at CSU, I will refuse to book that person into my jail. Furthermore, I will show up at court and testify on that person’s behalf, and I will do whatever I can to discourage a conviction. I will not be a party to this very poor decision.”

I will admit not to be totally happy with the idea thou. I feel if you control a property then you make the rules there, and those who enter have the right to stay or leave....but a school of higher education is not exactly a fast food joint you can skip in life and find another real quick. That's why I am all for this Sheriffs comments.

My Uncle sent me some nice images of another rifle he has and I thought I would share them with you and just a little history. The rifle is a Stevens single shot .25Stevens rimfire long. As the images show it is a lovely example of a breach loading firearm that seems to be attempting the cross the line between rifle and handgun.

The stevens comapny was founded right near the end of the civil war.

STEVENS, J., ARMS COMPANY
J. Stevens Arms Company was founded in 1864 at Chicopee Falls, MA as J. Stevens & Co. In 1886 the name was changed to J. Stevens Arms and Tool Co. In 1916, the plant became New England Westinghouse, and tooled up for Mosin-Nagant Rifles. In 1920, the plant was sold to the Savage Arms Corp. and manufactured guns were marked "J. Stevens Arms Co." This designation was dropped in the late 1940s, and only the name "Stevens" has been used up to 1990. Beginning in 1999, Savage Arms, Inc. began manufacturing/importing Stevens trademarked guns again, including rifles and shotguns.

The catirdge offers no great advantage over the .22lr, but it was one of many new rounds coming into a growing new market after the civil war.

The term "pocket rifle" is normally used for this style of firearm but some also call it a "bicycle rifle". This advertising found online does use that term. Others also produced pocket rifles during the same period.

One thing is obvious is that it is a lovely little package of a firearm. Models came chambered in .22, .25. .32rim, .38, and .44rim

From Firearms in American History, Volume 3 By Charles Winthrop Sawyer we have this plate and information on 4 different pocket rifle modes.

No. 1, "Hunters' Pet." With 24-inch barrel this rifle weighed about 6 pounds. The ammunition was .32, .38, and .44 rim and center fire. The price, which was rather high for the time, ran from $18.00 for the one with 18-inch barrel to $21.00 for the one with 24-inch barrel; this indicates that the Hunters' Pet was intended to be accurate and serviceable. The breech of the barrel when released by pressure upon a stud in the right side of the frame tipped up to extract and be loaded. As the catch spring soon lost a portion of its strength, and as the axis screw of the barrel and the sides of the frame adjacent to it soon permitted growing looseness, the barrel after a very little use was wobbly in the frame. However, as the rear sight was fixed on the barrel, and as the barrel was heavy, accurate shooting still was possible; and the ease with which the arm could be taken apart for packing in a small space and the extreme simplicity of the make-up induced users of this type of arm to overlook its shortcomings. The weight, however, was another matter; and on account of continual criticism the Hunters' Pet was soon succeeded by lighter and also less expensive issues of the same general design. It disappeared from the market about 1888.

No. 2, "New Model Pocket Rifle" The stud for releasing the barrel catch was transferred to the left side of the frame so as to be used by the thumb. The whole arm was a diminutive, its weight with 10-inch barrel being only 2 pounds. The ammunition was .22 and .32 rim fire.

No. 3, "Reliable Pocket Rifle." This was the Diamond Model pistol with long barrel and adjustable skeleton stock.

No. 4, New Model Pocket or Bicycle Rifle. This variant of the "Hunters' Pet" weighed but 2f pounds with 18-inch barrel and used .22, .25, and .32 rim fire cartridges.

But the best way to give you an idea of the usages of a Stevens Pocket Rifle are in the words of the people who used them.

To shoot frogs requires even more skill than to spear them. For shooting, most hunters prefer a small, accurate weapon, such as the Stevens pocket rifle, which costs a trifling sum. This is a Hopkins & Allen revolver in .38 S&W short with a folding hammer from my uncles collection...plus a little information.

Hopkins & Allen

Incorporated on June 15, 1868 by Charles A. Converse, Charles W. Allen, Horace Briggs, Samuel S. Hopkins and Charles W. Hopkins. It is of interest that all except of Charles W. Allen were already co-partners in Bacon Manufacturing Co. and Continental Arms Co. Both companies ceased all activities about the time when Hopkins & Allen was founded. In some way Hopkins & Allen Manufacturing Company (Hopkins & Allen) could be their successor.

The company was managed by the brothers Charles W. Hopkins, Henry H. Hopkins and Samuel S. Hopkins.

See Bacon Manufacturing Co. and Merwin Hulbert & Co. which company became sole distributor of Hopkins & Allen in 1871. In 1874 Converse sold his parts (1/2 of the company's capital) to Merwin, Hulbert & Co. Hopkins & Allen became a cash cow for Merwin, Hulbert & Co. When Merwin, Hulber & Co respectively Hulbert Bothers went bankrupt, Hopkins & Allen itself went bankrupt two years later in 1898. The company was reorganized as Hopkins & Allen Arms Company.

As of 1875 H&A made several lines of revolvers exclusively for Merwin, Hulbert & Co. e.g. the XL series however, with a double action feature and with a trigger guard. See Merwin, Hulbert & Co.

H & A was taken over by Marlin-Rockwell in 1914

While I'm not sure which specific model this is, but it is a 5 shot.

Now the .38 S&W is a fore bearer to the more modern .38 special, thats the full sized round that I teethed on when I started to shoot my first non-.22lr revolvers.

The .38 S&W(wiki image) is a revolver cartridge developed by Smith & Wesson in 1877. Though similar in name, it is not interchangeable with the later .38 Smith and Wesson Special due to a different case shape and slightly larger bullet diameter.

The British military adopted a loading of this cartridge as the .38-200, with the "200" referring to the weight of the bullet in grains.

I'll admit I have always liked the break top revolvers so several of the images my uncle sent me are pretty cool in my book. The image of Michael Caine fumbling due to nerves as he attempted to reload his break top revolver in the movie Zulu is one of the images for this fine mechanism that comes to mind when I see a break top model.

In the full 30 minute 911 recording it is frightening how long it took county deputies to get to the house as she waited in terror.

One person on this article said with a whimper in there voice.

Ok, what did he do? He was freaking out because a wreck had just happened and was trying to save the lady's life who is passed out at the accident!! Desperate times calls for desperate measures. If he was armed he would have shot through the window not threw a chair. She should have just wounded his leg, due to that. I understand she was most definately terrified, but she shouldn't have taken his life. What if this was your brother or your father trying to save your mother or YOUR family member's life? How would you feel then?

He was drunk and high and all he had done was drive his truck into a small ditch....no one was hurt, but his 50 year old sister was stoned and drunk still in the truck when found. Yep. a poor innocent victim of gun violence.

Well I will admit that I am amazed that they were so open on their view of us. With the turmoil of today it is hard to say anything bad about the Obama administration without being called a right wing hate filled tea bagger....but I'll try.

There is a rather well known phrase from the bible that is a good place to start. "When I was a child I spoke as a child I understood as a child I thought as a child; but when I became a man I put away childish things." I Cor. xiii. 11. Most of us here are adults and most of us here attempt to view things from an adult viewpoint. While we come to different conclusions we are very much not children...I hope. Sadly the nature of some comments I found in an article needs to be addressed and I would like your view of them.

When it comes to greenhouse-gas emissions, Energy Secretary Steven Chu sees Americans as unruly teenagers and the Administration as the parent that will have to teach them a few lessons.
Speaking on the sidelines of a smart grid conference in Washington, Dr. Chu said he didn’t think average folks had the know-how or will to to change their behavior enough to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.
“The American public…just like your teenage kids, aren’t acting in a way that they should act,” Dr. Chu said. “The American public has to really understand in their core how important this issue is.” (In that case, the Energy Department has a few renegade teens of its own.)

In so many ways I find this offensive as I have looked at the issues and come to a conclusion. To say that a conclusion that they might find in opposition to them as childish goes back to something I read long ago that has guided me in many ways when I view our government.

Immanuel Kant was a German philosopher during the late 1700's. While some of his views were 'odd' there was one from his writings "Principles of Rights" that has struck me as being very important in todays society with our slowly encrouching government.

'No one has a right to compel me to be happy in the peculiar way in which he may think of the well-being of other men; but everyone is entitled to seek his own happiness in the way that seems to him best, if it does not infringe the liberty of others in striving after a similar end for themselves when their Liberty is capable of consisting with the Right of Liberty in all others according to possible universal laws.'*A Government founded upon the principle of Benevolence towards the people*after the analogy of a father to his children, and therefore called a paternal Government*would be one in which the Subjects would be regarded as children or minors unable to distinguish what is beneficial or injurious to them. These subjects would be thus compelled to act in a merely passive way; and they would be trained to expect solely from the Judgment of the Sovereign and just as he might will it, merely out of his goodness, all that ought to make them happy. Such a Government would be the greatest conceivable Despotism; for it would present a Constitution that would abolish all Liberty in the Subjects and leave them no Rights

.People throw around the term Socialist, Fascist and all other terms with little knowledge of what they really mean. I fins that using the term "paternalistic" works the best as it is understandable, and shows how both parties work towards the worst of Kant's Paternalistic government view.

We now have a member of the government admitting that yes we are living in Kant's paternalistic governmet. His honesty that we are ALL children and need to be guided by the parents should be offensive to both sides of the party spetrum.

It should be noted that the article ends with this blurb

I simply feel his words are damning enough to feel Kant just rolled over in his grave.

After the men entered the store, they announced a robbery, and one, armed with a semiautomatic handgun, pistol-whipped an employee, police said.

From about 20 feet away, Augusto raised the shotgun and fired three blasts, hitting all four men, police said.

2 dead and 2 wounded....I wept...Wait! I laughed. Sorry. I get those words inverted.

Of course the article had to bring in the government to piss me off.

New York City police said they were investigating whether Augusto had a permit for the shotgun. The New York Times, quoting a law enforcement official, said on its Web site the district attorney was considering a possible misdemeanor weapons charge against Augusto, which would indicate he did not have a permit.

He just stopped a crime, and a crap load of future crimes in a obviously legal shooting and they hassle him over a damn permit. People wonder why I'm a libertarian.. It's crap like this that does it.

The news of the bus decapitation in Canada has been played up due to the extreme nature of what happened. A letter to the editor in canada has made me comment on this.

If the attack had happened in the U.S., the guy would have used a gun (not a knife) and he probably would have shot up the whole bus.

How many victims would there have been if this guy had a gun instead? I don't even want to imagine.

I think the bus driver should be commended for his quick actions of getting the bus to the roadside and the people off. If a gun were involved, I highly doubt he could have managed this.

I have always been proud to be Canadian and that includes being thankful that we do not have the "Right to Bear Arms."

The idea that someone with a gun might have stopped the attack before it became deadly does not cross her sheepish mind.

I was checking Google news this morning to see what updates there were on the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist church shooting. I have been several times to the UU church in Murfreesboro and can honestly say they are a welcoming and kind community.

Monday I took my brother to the Army recruiting station in Murfreesboro. The plan was for him to spend the night in Nashville courtesy of the army, and then travel with others to Fort Bragg North Carolina for basic training and then advanced training.

Saturday all of my siblings got together at legends to eat, laugh, and say goodbye to him for the next 5-6 months.

Decided to invest in my MAK-90 and purchase some new furniture for it.

I started with a AK-47 Saw Pistol Grip and then a AK-47 Galil Style Handguard and rounded off the whole kit with a AK-47 Black Folding Stock. While I know this stuff is Tapco and looked down upon by purists out there, it is what I can afford, and the same Tapco style gear adorns my brothers MAADI and it works fine for him.

The only real problems I may have is that the old stock was a thumbhole stock and the main screw through the 'pistol grip' section was long and I now need a small one. My brother will cut and tap it to the correct length if need be. Better then purchasing screws when you can make one.

I'll post pictures in the near future of the dressed up queen.

My dear wife wants to invest a little money in her own rifle that shoots the 7.62 X 39, and she would like it scoped. I'm looking at some pawn shops for one. Likely will purchase her a bolt action if I can find one.

Life in general

It's half way through the semester and I feel daily kicked in the nads. My mental skills are weak and my ability to handle stress is nothing close to the time I went back in the mumble mumble but I keep marching forward.

Life is good. I still write for the local newspaper and the one year mark has been hit. Good God what were they thinking hiring me. I now know the mayor and a good number of people on the town council do not like me, but the reader feedback is highly positive and I have no worries about my columns future. Our paper also is one year old and our numbers are simply great. 80% plus readership once a month and over 70% readership on a weekly basis for the whole town. Other papers would kill for numbers like that.

I have almost totally quit reading blogs outside of Say Uncle and our sister city's local blog. I just don't have time with everything as it is and I miss the luxery of the time I enjoyed on blogs. I'm not taking classes this summer so blogging will increase then, and I hope my old regular readers, both of you, will start dropping by then.

when someone creates a webpage they like to test it against the main web browsers. Opera, Firefox, and Explorer. They tweak it till they make it so all can see it.

I have found in the last month or so a major item that many do not seem to check. Font size. I reset the default setting for my computers to display font sizes from the standard 'medium' to 'large'. My eyes are needing the extra size for comfort.

The problem is that a lot of websites now have text over running text, and text shoving boxes over other items. To the point that some pages are totally unreadable. It is hard to figure out what a blog post, or newspaper article says when the left two inches of a five inch wide article is covered by an amazon/google/adsense ad.

Just a hurdle for an older guy on the web I guess.

The subject is on the new proposed amendment to the 2007 farm bill that would limit junk food sales in the public school. The senator who proposed it is Tom Harkin of Iowa.

I went by his senate webpage because the news articles I was reviewing did not mention the Farm Bill number. When his page came up I looked to see if I was at the right place.

He is using a blog formet for his press releases. Comments links, and a whole slew of links like reddit and digg on each post. while he is a politician, and I view them with a certain distrust, I'm glad he is using this format.

My tattoo

I have a tattoo on my right arm. I got it for my birthday earlier this year. Now I'm one who works things out in my head a longtime, so this tattoo was not spur of the moment, or dumb. It represents a part of me and my view of the world, and my place in it.

At first glance it looks simple. Four squares, each a bit over an inch and a half. Three colored in and one empty. The outline is black and the three colors are red, blue, and green.

They each symbolize a statement. Not just political, but about my individualistic view of the world.

Box one is reddish wood colored. It represents a wooden box. Specifically a soap box. A term used throughout time to mean free speech. The ability to stand on a box and say "I am a free person", and "you will not control my free speech". A fundamental basis of freedom through time.

The second box is blue. Ballot boxes were traditionally blue. The ability to vote. It symbolizes my right to choose who represents me and the ability to vote for our leaders. Also a fundamental right.

The third box is green. If you have ever seen an ammo box you know they are green. The right to protect myself, and if needed to remove tyrants if they attempt to usurp your other rights. The right to keep and bear arms was the second one mentioned in the bill of rights.

Now the fourth one is different. It's empty. When asked by people what it represents I make a bold, yet simple statement.

"It's the empty box I'll put the dead body in and bury in the woods of any fucker who tries to take the first three boxes away from me"

I'm a libertarian, and have been for a long time. On my shoulder I have had added for time and eternity a sign that I will never believe in being a subject to any ruler.

My tattoo says a lot about me, and where I am in this world.

By his comments you could easily put him into the troll category, and ignore anything he writes past this point. Boots and Saber released this comment on the situation.

The problem is what he is being charged with. This Breitbart video says he is being charged with Disorderly conduct.

WI Statute 947.01: Disorderly Conduct. Whoever, in a public or private place, engages in violent, abusive, indecent, profane, boisterous, unreasonably loud, or otherwise disorderly conduct under circumstances in which the conduct tends to cause or provoke a disturbance is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor.

From the same website the information also says internet acts can be charged as disorderly conduct.

Wisconsin law defines a message as a sign, signal, writing, image, sound, data or intelligence of any nature whatsoever, which includes e-mail. Under Wisconsin law (WI Stat 947.0125), if a person sends a message to another person via e-mail or any other computer communication system and in that message threatens to inflict injury or physical harm to any person or any person's property, intends to frighten, intimidate, threaten, abuse or harass any person, or uses profanity, obscene materials, lewd, profane or suggestively lewd or profane language, whether or not the message is actually received, and whether or not the sender attempts to conceal his or her identity, a conviction can subject that person to the penalties of a Class B misdemeanor.

If the intent is to harass, annoy or offend another person, then the sending of a message via email or any other communication system is a Class B forfeiture.

The problem is that it seems almost anything that has the intent to "annoy" is criminal. Hell. Most posts on this blog would be criminal, and a some on the community blog I write for also would be criminal...if I lived in Wisconsin.

Disorderly conduct seems to be a law written to be used when nothing else really works. A "do all" law. A bad law.

Why I hate Sprint

My dislike of Sprint started a couple of years ago when a group in my family got a family plan.

5 phones were part of the plan and they worked well for the most part. The cheap discount phones with the basic camera. After a bit my wife desired better phones and when she and her mom went to Cool Springs Galleria to renew the account she picked up two Motorola RAZORS for us.

This is strike one for Sprint. They sold the pair of phones to my wife with a nice rebate included. Even I was impressed. There was one problem. When my wife sent the paperwork in and the required form the reply we got back was that the rebate program had expired. Technically it had expired BEFORE they sold my wife the phone. Damn nice of them, and of course calls to the Cool Springs site met with nothing but frustration.

Then problems started to occur. The RAZOR may be the pretty phone on the market, but the software speed reminded me of the early 386/486 computers in the 80's. You hit a button and then waited for it to respond. The reception also went to heck. The phones simply sucked.

Then about 2 months ago my wife's phone started to go through battery charges real fast. What used to last three days or more, started to last a day and a half, or less. Then last week mine started to do the same thing.

As we all know how computers will have items running in the background that can use up CPU capacity, I figured it was software. Since the software started out bad, the natural assumption is that it got worse. We went to the Sprint store in Murfreesboro Tennessee and dropped our phones off and after a period returned.

The first thing the guy said was that there was nothing he could do as it was water damage on both. As my wife and I know we have never dropped it in water we asked WTF was he talking about. There seems to be an infamous chem tab on the phone that turns color after exposure to water, or in our case humidity.

Since the tab had changed color he told us the phone was dead, with no testing at all to find out as the tab stopped him, and told us our initial phone insurance will cover this. Now a simple check to see if the battery was dead, or if it was software related was not done. Tab turned so they are off the hook.

It's damn sad they sell phones with bad reception, and hypersensitive chem tabs. But this is Sprint and they are not impressing me.

We get out to the car and I pick my phone up to look at this chem tab from hell, and notice the front was now broken, a break that was not there when I dropped it off. My now pissed off wife went back in and G.S.'s comment "I don't know how it happened, but I didn't do it" was followed by multiple "I don't know"'s that pissed my wife off to no end.

Our insurance will cover the phones, but for us, Sprint, and the Sprint store at 1407 N.W.Broad St. in Murfreesboro should simply be avoided.

People seem so wound up on debates and I'm not sure why for the most part. i simply can not see how making a choice on who to vote for can be done in the few high pressure moments of a debate. People talk about how Hillary sounded good compared to her flop in the next to last debate, and the "Ron Paul always wins" views of others always are echoes and repeated online in the days after.

But can a few moments on TV really change your mind? I just don't get it. I have not watched a single election debate, and the talking heads after the fact are likely more informative.

Debates just don't fly for me.

I am not dead, but life has gotten busy in a positive way. I'm registering for classes, and have had computer issues, and the holidays have made me a lax blogger.

Things will not change. I was planning on putting the blog on hiatus until I graduate in 2012, but will drop in every few days as I find something I wish to post. I was not a prolific poster, and will be even less so, but I do not plan to stop.

I do plan on working the community blog and create something that has more then just an online presence. I want it to be something that can have an affact on Smyrna. Two months ago I set up a booth and handed out flyers and stickers about the community blog, and met several readers.

Not dead, just busy.

Billy told them he had kept it a secret because he was fairly certain they wouldn’t approve. He believed it was a violation of school rules, even though nobody was trying hard to stop it. Sue Anne and William were relieved.

I'm rather pissed tonight at some of her latest words, or her latest spewing of political gaming filth. It involves states rights, verses the rotting claw of the federal government. Now you would have to be living under a rock to not know that the immigration issue is a political hot potato, and that the candidates are doing everything they can to avoid it. Even to the point of whoring out their normal beliefs for a brief moment of respite from it.

The latest is drivers licenses. Seems there is a push by some to allow illegals to drive. Now we know they drive, but the laminated card of safety will allow them to drive and never get in an accident, or some other bullshit reason. The issue of licenses for illegals was addressed by the old battle axe, and she played the political game well and ran for cover.

Pressed anew on whether she supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Tuesday it depends on the state.

In a CNN interview, Clinton, a New York senator, reiterated her support for governors who must contend with large populations of undocumented workers in the absence of federal immigration reform. She then was asked whether she thinks it is a "good idea" for governors to allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses.

"It depends upon what state they're in. It depends upon what they think the risks are," Clinton said. "A governor of New York that has a lot of immigrants, many of whom we know are not there legally, has to worry about security. A governor of another state where that's not a problem doesn't."

It seems she started to channel the spirit of the states right corpse that the federals skewer more and more with increasing anger. Instead of acting like she has a set of balls( a set that I believe is Bill's in a mason jar), she fell back on the "it's up to the individual states" line.

Just one problem in this act. She seemingly had no trouble telling the states what to do when it came to us. Us, the legals.

Yes. You might have heard of this. It's called the Real ID act, or as some say "bend over and get your state ID number branded on your arse" bill. For us it is "One size fits all", but the political hot potato she tossed towards the individual governors.

She was one of the 100 senators (That's all of them by the way) who voted on the H. R. 1268 Conference Report, the report that the "son of real ID act" ended up on.

For you and me she has no trouble snapping that federal whip over the heads of the states governments while dressed in a leather outfit with a strap-on in the shape of a rolled and soiled constitution, but when it comes to the hot potato illegal immigrant issue, she looks like a bread baking, loving member of states rights coalition.

I have never seen a better example of political whoring by her then I have in the few short words she has spoken on this subject. If you're a statist, and she is by any definition in the book, then stand by your beliefs, but if you're a states right person then be one. of course she is not a state's right person, but to use that view to hide during an election shows a fundamental flaw in her character that should be a glaring sign that she should never be able to grasp into her claws the reigns of power.

Hillary Clinton. If you sell out your own statist beliefs just to avoid an issue, then why should you be someone we could trust in the oval office? We can't, and I hope to hell you lose.
